Last night, the Miami Heat played LeBron James' former team,
the Cleveland Cavaliers. As expected, they came out on top to put their
record at 19-6 for the season. They also extended their win streak to 3
games with the victory. Five players scored in double figures including
Dwayne Wade with 26 points and James with 24 points. 24 points, doesn't
that ring a bell? Oh yeah, James scored that many in one quarter the
other night! That puts a little perspective onto one of my previous posts
about the difficulty of scoring 24 points in one quarter. Now the Heat start a six game road trip starting
tomorrow against the Orlando Magic.
There are definitely a few games that I will be watching closely during
this road trip. The Magic have not had a
good season so far, but if Dwight Howard does not get traded, he could start
playing even harder to earn an even bigger contract when he becomes a free
agent. If he does that, then he will be
a player to watch against the Heat.
Chris Bosh is more of a finesse type of center. He shoots outside jumpers, and his frame isn’t
very bulky. Dwight Howard is pure
muscle. His shoulders can support
houses, and he is dubbed Superman for a reason.
If he plays like he can and stays out of foul trouble, then they could
be a team to watch in the playoffs. The
Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Indiana Pacers all play the Heat during
this road trip, and they should be playoff contenders, as well. To see how the Heat will stack up against
about every team but the Bulls, watch this road trip! Thanks to NBA.com for the stats and upcoming schedule.
